Mr. Vedantam Sada Siva Murthy hails from Abbirajupalem, a remote village in west Godavari district. He did his graduation from A.S.N.M Govt. College, Palakol. He was active student and owned a royal Enfield motorcycle from his college days. He has a passion for mechanism and always works with tolls and innovative ideas; he can alter anything and even make new items that are useful in day today life.
Accidents or some kind of calamities are a part of life and Sada Siva Murthy had not been an exception to this unfortunately, he met with a train accident at a prime age, when he was just 25years old. He slipped and fell down from a moving train, resulting in a below knee bilateral amputation. The greatest part of his life is he is a fierce-minded and an optimistic person. So he did not meet desperation and despondency.
In 1961 he was provided a pair of custom made artificial limbs, immediately he came back to his village on his Enfield motor bike. As he was born with a silver spoon in mouth, he did not find difficulty in leading his life. His only problem was with custom made limbs as abrasions occurred very often. But his iron mind took it as a challenge, he took part in many development programmes of his village and constructed bridge on the canal, formed roads and took part in many other development activities. It was a turning point shifting to palakol, a nearby town, which gave him the opportunity to stand as a support to the likewise people. He overcame his adversity fully when he took a pair of the hi-tech artificial limbs at that time. This gave him a chance to make-up his mind In Starting An Artificial Limb Centre In His Home Town Dr.C.M.Sarma An Orthopedic Surgeon In Palakol Supported Him In Starting A Hi- Tech Artificial Limb Centre At Palakol, In West Godavari District In The Year 1999. This Was The First Hi-Tech Artificial Limb Centre In Both In AP And Orissa. Thus Started His Journey in Supporting the Physically disabled With His Innovative And Mechanical Ideas. Being A Passionate Mechanic, He Uses His Ideas and Provides Artificial Limbs Centre Even as Low Cost affordable. Price to the Economically Backward Patients, With His Practical Experience He Is Able to rehabilitate the Patients both physically and Mentally. His suffering Make Him Understand the Worry of the Patient and Stands by Them and Motivates Them. He Offers A Soothing Service To The Patients And Is Able To Satisfy Them In A Better Manner Than Any Other Commercial Centre. We Are Proud That We Have Such An Iron Man In Palakol, He Has Won The Appreciation As Well As Wards From Different Organizations, We Can Proudly Say That This Could Be The Only Centre runby Double Amputee In Association With An Orthopedic Surgeon. This Centre Has Provided Nearly 4000 Limbs To Deserved Patients.
